Michelle M. Thomas is a civil law practitioner with almost a decade of experience spanning the public and private sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. Michelle obtained the Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School in Kingston, Jamaica and was called to the bar in 2016. Her experience includes general legal advice, legislation development, international legal instrument negotiations and labour relations disputes.
Michelle is also an alumna of the University of the West Indies, Mona with a first-class honours degree in Media and Communications. She is an award-winning broadcast journalist (Carlton Alexander Award for Business and Finance Journalism from the Press Association of Jamaica in 2020 and the Prime Minister National Youth Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2008). She is a former Part Time lecturer of the course, ‘Legal and Ethical Issues in Media and Communication’ at the University of Technology Jamaica and delights in training, motivating and inspiring teenagers and young professionals to live a purpose driven life.
Michelle is an author and member of the Jamaican Bar Association.
